Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏÂÛ̳ is pleased to offer a Certificate of Graduate Study (CGS) in Nonprofit Leadership to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary for challenging professional positions in the growing nonprofit sector in Rhode Island and beyond.​​

Who Should Apply to this Program?

This program may be pursued after completing a bachelors degree or while working toward a Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏÂÛ̳ MSW degree. Earned credits may be transferable to several of the college's degree programs, with approval from appropriate program directors. The design of this CGS program allows new and existing nonprofit professionals to gain key competency skills in nonprofit management areas including, but not limited to:

  • fundraising
  • strategic planning
  • personnel
  • finance
  • governance

Program Specifics 

This is a 15-credit program designed to strengthen leadership and analytical skills for current and future leaders of nonprofit organizations. It was developed in response to an increasing demand for training and education in leading and managing nonprofit organizations. Courses, and the theories they explore, get students to:

  • understand connections between leadership and change
  • grasp the dynamics of interpersonal relationships in: organizations, communication, fund development, marketing, and finance 

This program prepares the next generation of leaders to address organizational complexity and strengthen the future nonprofit network.
