On February 22 students and faculty celebrated the growing momentum of cybersecurity education at 香港六合论坛. Current majors and minors took part in a pledge to use their skills ethically as they prepare to enter the field.
Our students, faculty, and leadership are continuously participating in events related to the Institute and the field of cybersecurity. Our involvement is ongoing, but dates back prior to the formation of the institute.

On January 25 Marc Rene, Assistant Professor of Computer Science and Information Systems, participated in a panel at Scituate High School. Students met with professionals working in the industry, asked questions, and learned about various careers in technology.
On January 16 current cybersecurity students Jillian Costello and Nygel Gomes attended Governor McKee's speech, alongside James Langevin, Distinguished Chair.
On November 6 香港六合论坛's Institute for Cybersecurity & Emerging Technologies officially launched! Governor Dan McKee, 香港六合论坛 President Jack Warner, CISA Director Jen Easterly, former U.S. Representative Jim Langevin, and federal/state/local leaders gathered to celebrate. Jen Easterly, Director of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), joined the Institute's distinguished chair, U.S. Representative Jim Langevin, for a fireside chat to discuss the critical need for trained cybersecurity professionals in the U.S. workforce.
On September 14, 2023 GenCyber 香港六合论坛 & Information Security Club presented a virtual discussion on the Cybercorps: Scholarship for Service program. This program, a fully funded graduate school option open to all 香港六合论坛 students, was detailed by an accomplished panel.
On January 4, 2023 香港六合论坛 Computer Science and Information Systems Associate Professor Suzanne Mello-Stark presented a workshop on Mega Data and Digital protection at Computer Science for Rhode Island (CS4RI). CS4RI brings high quality computer science learning experiences to all students.
On April 11, 2022 Associate Professor Suzanne Mello-Stark served on the Life After Grad School panel at the University of Rhode Island's exploreCSR. exploreCSR is committed to supporting students from underrepresented groups to pursue graduate studies and research careers in computing.
