The Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏÂÛ̳ Food Justice Project

The Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏÂÛ̳ Food Justice Project was developed by students in the International Nongovernmental Organizations Studies (INGOS) Program, through their coursework in INGOS Social Entrepreneurship. In this course, each spring, students tackle food justice issues in the city of Providence.

Student Project Specifics

Faculty-mentored past projects have included a food desert study of South Providence and shorter reports on resources for food-insecure residents of Providence. Recently, students designed a much-needed resource sheet for Providence residents that compiles all of the food-related resources in the city, including food banks, government assistance programs, elderly services, community gardens, farmers markets, and food cooperatives.
