Presented by ̳ Dance Company
“truce songs” employs David Dorfman’s trademark style of merging highly athletic dancing with poignantly vulnerable emotion. It uses movement, text, live/original music & visual design to create a narrative arc that seeks to answer the questions: If we can stop fighting & destroying for a day, weekend or month - why not forever? Can we, through dance, erase isms and phobias: racism, xenophobia, homophobia, antisemitism, etc.? Might we imagine our local & global conflicts melting away as we dance toward peace? “truce songs” is a collaboration between David Dorfman, DDD dancers, guest artists Lisa Race and Michaela Ellingson; Musicians/Composers Lizzy de Lise and Sam Crawford; and Visual Designer Andrew Schneider.
